Compare paperback trims8.5 × 11 KDP Paperback Cover Size (White, Cream & Color Paper)
An 8.5 × 11-inch closed paperback measures 215.9 × 279.4 mm. It can give worksheets, large diagrams or activity pages more writing space than the smaller trims in this directory. It is a large KDP trim, and the upper page limits differ sharply from the portable formats. Use the table to distinguish an actual available selection from a number that merely fits a formula.
8.5 × 11 inches: all three paper measurements
Even production counts, with 0.125-inch bleed on every outside edge. Each entry comes from the same calculation used above. Unavailable selections show the actual limit error instead of an invalid cover size.

Plan the worksheet page and the outside wrap separately
A full-cover PDF is much wider than one Letter-sized worksheet because it combines the back, binding strip and front. Export the interior as individual pages using the appropriate interior bleed setting; never use the unfolded cover dimensions as the interior page size. If activities reach the edge, the interior needs its own three-edge calculation. The outer cover uses a different continuous sheet.
Before finalizing a workbook count, inspect answer keys, repeated practice pages and any blank backs. A deliberately blank verso still contributes a file page and paper thickness. Check that a writing area remains practical near the gutter, then stabilize the manuscript before placing the spine. A page-limit warning cannot be fixed by reducing only the cover’s pixel dimensions.
Read the large-trim limits before commissioning artwork
The current supported maxima for this format are 590 white, 550 cream and 590 premium-color production pages. Standard color is a separate 72–600-page selection. The 600-page row therefore reports the three comparison stocks as unavailable while the calculator can still evaluate standard color. Do not copy the 828-page maximum from the smaller sizes into a large workbook project.
Consider color needs while laying out activity instructions. Premium-color images and black-ink worksheets use different stocks and binding widths. If a chart relies on colored annotations, inspect a physical proof rather than choosing paper solely because a thinner spine looks convenient. Keep your source illustrations at their intended proportions when shifting front artwork to a newly calculated fold.

100-page black-ink practice workbook
This assumed workbook has 100 file pages including practice blanks and answers. Its wide front and back panels dominate the spread. Build the cover artboard from the complete result rather than treating an 8.5 × 11 page as the finished upload.
Spine 0.2252 in (5.72 mm); full cover 17.4752 × 11.25 in (443.87 × 285.75 mm); 5243 × 3375 pixels at 300 PPI.

64-page premium-color activity book
At 64 production pages this example is below the lettering threshold, despite the large front panel. Put identifying text on the front and back, leaving the binding strip clear. Premium color has an eligible minimum here; standard color would require at least 72 production pages.
Spine 0.1502 in (3.815 mm); full cover 17.4002 × 11.25 in (441.965 × 285.75 mm); 5220 × 3375 pixels at 300 PPI.

Planning questions for this trim
Why is 600-page white stock unavailable for my Letter-sized workbook?
The supported 8.5 × 11 white-paper maximum is 590 production pages. Cream stops at 550 and premium at 590. Standard color allows up to 600 but is a different printing selection, not a way to relabel a black-ink file.
Can the 64-page illustrated activity book have lettering on its wide spine?
The front panel is wide, but its spine is still determined by only 64 pages. This is below the 80-production-page threshold used by the tool. Leave the spine free of type and identify the book on its panels.
Is the full wrap also the page size for an 8.5 × 11 worksheet PDF?
No. The interior contains individual pages; the cover joins two panels with a spine and outer bleed. Use the separate interior bleed calculator for edge-to-edge worksheets and keep the cover result for the outside PDF.
