Make a 4 × 6 PDF

One static PDF · up to 20 MiB and 50 pages · processed in this browser.

Choose an existing shipping-label PDF. This tool does not buy postage or create a carrier label.

Static page content is embedded as PDF content. An existing bitmap barcode remains a bitmap; this tool does not restore lost detail. Cropping hides surrounding content but does not securely remove it from the PDF. Password protection, interactive fields, annotations and nonstandard PDF UserUnit values are unsupported.

How is a PDF label fitted onto a 4 × 6 inch page?

With crop dimensions w × h and margin m in PDF points, scale = min((288−2m)/w, (432−2m)/h) × zoom/100 after rotation. Output is 4 × 6 inches at 72 points per inch. The tool centers the crop, applies offsets and rejects clipping; review every complete barcode. It resizes existing artwork and creates no shipment.

One static PDF up to 20 MiB and 50 pages; encrypted or interactive PDFs are unsupported. Scaling preserves proportions. Cropping is not redaction, and a readable preview is not a physical scanner or printer acceptance test.

The shipping label cropper reformats an existing static PDF onto portrait pages measuring 4 × 6 inches. It does not buy postage, generate tracking identifiers or rebuild barcodes. You select the complete label region on each source page, and the tool fits that rectangle using one scale factor for both directions. A proportional fit preserves the relationship between barcode width and height; it cannot restore detail missing from an original bitmap.

Output page: 4 × 72 by 6 × 72 = 288 × 432 PDF points

Fit scale: min((288 − 2m) ÷ w, (432 − 2m) ÷ h) × zoom ÷ 100

Centered placement: left = (288 − placed width) ÷ 2 + horizontal offset

Vertical placement: bottom = (432 − placed height) ÷ 2 − downward offset

Here w and h are the crop dimensions after the applicable rotation, and m is the fit margin in points. One standard PDF point is 1/72 inch. A 90° or 270° turn swaps dimensions before fitting. The default nine-point margin reduces the fitting area to 270 × 414 points. That margin is a fitting input, not a promise that the physical printer has an identical unprintable border.

Coordinates are measured from the top-left of the displayed page, taking the source page boxes and original rotation into account. The crop must remain inside that displayed page. After scaling and offsets, the complete selected rectangle must remain inside the output page or generation is blocked. This geometric check cannot determine whether you selected every necessary address, routing mark or barcode border.

Export embeds the original static page content inside a clipping region rather than using a screenshot. Existing vector content remains PDF drawing content; existing bitmaps remain bitmaps. Cropping controls what is visible, but surrounding content may remain within the resulting PDF. It is not secure redaction.

Begin with a valid shipping-label PDF from your carrier or selling platform and keep the original. This cropper is useful when an existing download places the label on a larger page. Select one supported static PDF. Image files such as JPG and PNG are not accepted by this workflow, and changing a filename to end in .pdf does not convert its contents.

Inspect the first page before selecting the crop. Find the entire label, including the destination, sender details required for that label, routing symbols and blank border around each barcode. Drag a rectangle or enter top-left coordinates, width and height in PDF points. Do not select only the dark barcode bars. Surrounding quiet space belongs in the crop even when it looks like unused paper. Check that the crop does not capture an unrelated second label.

Choose extra rotation in quarter turns if needed. Start with 100% zoom and zero offsets, then examine the calculated output dimensions. The fit margin changes the available fitting rectangle; offsets move the result within the page. Increasing zoom can cut the selected region at the output edge, so an invalid placement is rejected. Reduce zoom or movement when that happens.

Move through every included page and mark its complete label checked. You may copy settings to matching pages, but matching displayed dimensions, page boxes and rotation do not establish identical label placement. Copied settings reset review, and pages with different geometry retain their settings. Inspect each copied crop separately, or exclude a page that should not be printed. Generation requires every included page to be reviewed with valid settings.

Generate the PDF, download it and open the full output. The on-page output preview shows only its first page. Set your printer driver to 4 × 6 paper and actual size or 100%. Check orientation, clipping, darkness and readable text, then test a physical barcode scan before a batch. A settings or summary link cannot transfer the source PDF: choose the file again on another visit or device.

Use PDF points when moving between the source preview and numeric controls. A Letter page is 612 × 792 points, while the output is always 288 × 432 points. Larger source paper does not require selecting its entire page. Select only the complete label region and let uniform fit handle its proportions. Encrypted files, interactive fields, annotations and nonstandard UserUnit values are rejected. The static-file checks also reject document actions, JavaScript and page additional actions; these checks do not constitute a complete PDF security audit. Export a suitable static copy from the originating provider when possible. Do not interpret successful import as carrier validation, postage verification, physical printer compatibility or proof that every output barcode can be scanned.

A portrait label with the default margin

Assume the selected region is exactly 288 × 432 points, rotation is zero, zoom is 100% and offsets are zero. With a nine-point margin, available fit width is 288 − 18 = 270 and height is 432 − 18 = 414. Scale is min(270 ÷ 288, 414 ÷ 432) = 0.9375. Placed artwork is 270 × 405 points, centered nine points from the left and 13.5 points from the bottom. The output PDF page is still 288 × 432 points. If the source already provides a correct 4 × 6 label, a zero-margin fit instead keeps its original size.

A landscape region turned upright

Assume a 432 × 288 point label region with an extra 90° clockwise rotation and no existing source rotation. The fit dimensions become 288 × 432. With zero margin, 100% zoom and zero movement, scale is min(288 ÷ 288, 432 ÷ 432) = 1. The full label occupies the output page without nonuniform stretching. If the source page already carries rotation metadata, the tool accounts for it when mapping your displayed selection. Choose rotation by inspecting the preview rather than adding a turn merely because the original file reports a rotated page.

An enlargement that would clip

Assume a selected region measuring 200 × 300 points, margin nine, 100% zoom and no offsets. Fit scale is min(270 ÷ 200, 414 ÷ 300) = 1.35, producing 270 × 405 points. Increasing zoom to 110% multiplies scale by 1.10, giving 1.485 and a 297 × 445.5 point placement. Both dimensions exceed the 288 × 432 page, so export is rejected. At the original 100% zoom, moving right by ten points would place the left edge at 19 and the right edge at 289, also outside the page. These arithmetic examples describe geometry only; a valid fit still needs complete-label review and a physical print check.

Leave the barcode's blank border intact instead of treating it as waste. This tool cannot identify a quiet-zone requirement automatically or tell which routing symbol is essential for a particular carrier. When an edge is uncertain, compare with the original provider's label rather than cropping closer to enlarge the barcode. Include the complete address and service information as well as the bars.

A clean screen preview is not a scanner test. Printer resolution, darkness, paper, worn print heads and driver scaling can affect the physical result. Set actual size after choosing the correct paper size; a second fit-to-page operation can change the dimensions again. Inspect the downloaded PDF rather than relying solely on the first-page preview shown here.

Do not distribute cropped files as if surrounding private information had been erased. A clipping box hides content visually without securely removing every original object. Use a separate redaction workflow when removing information is the objective. File bytes are processed locally by this tool, but normal site requests still follow its privacy controls. Settings included in a shared URL may appear in browser history and server logs; a link does not include the label PDF.

01Can the shipping label cropper convert A4 or Letter to 4 × 6?

It can reformat a selected complete label region from a supported static PDF onto 288 × 432 point pages. Select and review each included page, adjust rotation and fit, then generate the result. It does not automatically detect a carrier layout. Keep the original file and use a provider-native format when practical.

02Is the existing barcode stretched or regenerated?

The same scale is applied horizontally and vertically, preserving proportions. Original static drawing content is embedded rather than recreated as a barcode. A bitmap stays a bitmap and gains no lost detail when enlarged. Keep its blank border and test the printed result; the tool cannot certify carrier acceptance or a successful scan.

03Can I copy one crop to every page?

Copy settings applies only to pages with matching displayed size, original page boxes and rotation. Copied pages still require individual review because label placement can differ on otherwise identical paper. Pages with different geometry retain their settings. Exclude unwanted pages and review every included page before generating the PDF.

04Does cropping remove private information from the PDF?

No. Surrounding content can remain inside the output even when it is outside the visible clipping region. Cropping is not redaction. If an address, receipt or other private detail must be removed rather than hidden, use a separate secure redaction process and inspect that result before distributing a file.

05What files are rejected and what does a share link contain?

Use one nonempty static PDF up to 20 MiB and 50 pages. Encrypted files, annotations, interactive fields, document actions, JavaScript, page additional actions and nonstandard UserUnit values are unsupported. Image inputs are unavailable. Shared links do not contain the PDF or completed crop; choose the source again. URL settings can enter browser history and server logs.
